Residents in Richmond Shire have been told to stay away from rivers following one crocodile killed a dog. The attack happened deep inland, some 660km from that coast. A local saw the animal drag the dog into the water near a riverbank. The dead dog was later found by police. The council says crocodiles in this area are highly unusual. They are asking people to stay far from water until that reptile is caught. Similar warnings followed recent sightings in other remote parts of Australia.
