Aryna Sabalenka said Wimbledon’s rule that bars dogs from player enclosures is overly harsh.
She said the ban hurts her feelings and is unfair to players who keep animals.
She asked the tournament to change the rule to act swiftly.
The ban affects the whole tournament throughout the week, each day, preventing owners from keeping their dogs close, which seems excessive.
Sabalenka made the remarks on 2 July 2026, after the championships began.
She told organisers the rule is heart‑wrenching and requested that dogs be let in the player zones.
