US President Donald Trump has pushed Ukraine to hold a new presidential election, saying Volodymyr Zelenskyy should reach an agreement with Russia to stop the fighting.
Trump also pointed the finger at Zelenskyy for increases in diesel prices in the United States, warning Kyiv to stop striking Russian oil refineries he claims will supply American fuel.
The comments came on 10 October 2026, the same day Britain's Prime Minister spoke separately by phone with Zelenskyy, according to the UK government.
