Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been signed by Geelong, with the deal completed on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been long rumoured for the Cats after Essendon placed a firm price on the defender. Essendon were unwilling to let him go cheaply throughout the trade period.
The completed swap gives Geelong an reliable defender while Essendon gains Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is a multi-position player who bolsters the Essendon list heading into the new season.
