Ed Husic, Australia’s Industry Minister, condemned Labour’s internal workings after his proposal to allow a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese allegedly described his remark at a conference as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unperturbed by criticism, stating reporters: "put me in a freezer, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed unsuccessful tries to push the party to formally recognise events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed sharp splits within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
