Anthony Mackie will transfer his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, marking a return to theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run expected to continue until July 2027.

The production began its run in the West End before the Broadway transfer was picked up by theatre press. The move is a notable step for a performer largely absent from the stage in recent years.

After his Broadway commitment wraps up, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduling the blockbuster in after his stage work finishes.
